Tomorrow the nation celebrates Armed Forces Day with events around the country allowing our citizens to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to centenarian veterans.
This a relatively new celebration, starting in 2006 as ‘Veterans Day’, of an ancient convention that has underpinned our nation’s relationship with its military.
Known as the “military covenant” it refers to the tacit contract between servicemen and women and the civilians on whose behalf they are willing to die.
What is this contract? Put simply, in return for their service and the risks and privations they bear, British servicemen and women should expect fair treatment, to be valued and respected, and that they (and their families) will be sustained and supported during, and after their service.
Patria was founded to honour this covenant and does so in two ways. First, every team member is a veteran. Second, we were established to create an income stream for the main Armed Forces Charities; we make direct donations from many of our sales and dedicate 10% of our profits to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
Feel and look good in one of our 100% British made luxury T shirts, with £5 from each sale donated directly to our charity partners.
