On the banks of the River Coly in South Devon, a few miles from the sea, lies the last remaining oak bark tannery in Britain. On this ancient site, local hides are tanned for 12 months in nothing but oak bark and fresh water; the traditional English way with no chemicals. From here the hides are shipped an hour away to our master leather workers to be lovingly crafted into our products. The smell of leather hits you as you walk into the workshop. We are committed to producing all of our goods in Britain with as little impact on the environment as possible. That is why we love this leather.
